Have you ever wanted to capture the music you hear in your head, but you’re overwhelmed by a complex looking piece of software? Have you ever thought “I guess music production isn’t for me,” or “I’ll get to it when life calms down”? Well, the time is now.

Join Denver’s femme DJ & producer community, Coven Collective, for a workshop geared towards creative entrepreneurship. This week they will be having their residents Kwi and MARS dive into mindfulness, self-love, and cultivating understanding of ourselves with authenticity and compassion. We will also have ZenLily leading a basic course on music production for those that want to learn more about bringing their ideas to life.

In this workshop, ZenLily will demystify the interface of FL Studio and how to easily make a basic beat using stock sounds. We will start a track together from scratch and choose sounds to create an 8 bar loop that could be arranged later into a full track. Learn sound spectrum theory and how to apply basic EQing, compression, and sound design to infinitely shape sounds to your desired timbre.

In this interactive workshop, you will leave with a greater understanding of what equipment you need to build your own home studio, which DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) might be the best for you, and the first steps to getting started with music production on your own, regardless of the genre you wish to create.

Great for beginner to intermediate producers.
