The denver rope community is innovating in the performance art of rope bondage, and this evening will give you a glimpse of that.

Join us for cocktails and two innovative rope performances, followed by a unique chance to experience (we call it a tasting) rope or rope suspension.

8pm

Foxy and Terra display the connection and merging of two queer Shibari artists who are both experienced riggers and bottoms and who feel most themselves naked and/or tied up in nature… They revel in the beauty and intimacy that a sensory experience in rope amplifies, and are sure to catch the audience in the tendrils of their energy if they allow themselves the opportunity.

9pm

Then witness the integration of rope suspension, video, sound, and interactive sensors, with a brainchild performance called “Music for Rope and Augmentation” by Strangelove420, Inara & Switchtext. This is a performance in the intersection of Shibari and digital interaction.

After performances, we invite you to come prepared to actually experience rope if you desire, as we will have 4 skilled rope artists there to give you a taste. Also, get your name on the tasting list early, as it will fill up fast.

Note: there will be flashing lights, nudity in various forms, and simulated sexual activity in bondage.

Partners

GoodFoxy “Foxy” (they/she)

Foxy has been in various stages of a love affair with Japanese inspired rope bondage for more than 5 years. They practice largely queer-platonic rope and enjoy performing, teaching, rope photography, and tying outdoors with partners they love.

Terra (@Terra.corda) (she/her)
Terra is half Coloradan – half Australian and a proud poly, sex-positive environmentalist who, when not trying to save the planet, loves connecting through the art of shibari. Terra discovered shibari in Melbourne and has been practicing and teaching off and on for the past 5 years and is still enamored with the community, the artistry and the opportunities for connection that the rope world offers.

Strangelove (he/him)
is an award-winning composer whose music has been performed across the United States and Europe. His compositions are wide ranging and include works for orchestra, choir, electronics, rock band, and more. He has been a part of the rope and kink scene in Denver for three years, and has recently begun exploring how that passion intersects with his art. By placing various sensors on and around the performers, he creates music and video that interacts with the motion and energy on stage. With a preoccupation to understand the thread that resonates through all things, Strangelove thrives in both structure and improvisation. Beyond his interests in music and kink, he also enjoys hiking, local breweries, live shows, company and solitude.

Inara – She/Her
Though she always been attracted to the aesthetics of rope, Inara started bottoming for rope in the summer of 2023 and she has loved exploring the art ever since. Inara enjoys many different dynamics with rope, and especially loves to be challenged with creative ties.

Switchtext (he/him)
Switchtext is a designer and a co-founder and creative director of Studio Friction. He is more interested in sensations and understanding the elements of rope bondage than mastering someone’s specific pattern. Switchtext has been tying for 16 years. He has learned so much in that time and enjoys knowing he has so much more to learn.
