Welcome to Mouthfeel, an experiment in sensory deception where the tongue tells tales, the nose conspires, and expectation is the ultimate unreliable narrator.

Blindfolds on. Judgment off. In this no-spectators-allowed competition, you’ll sip, chew, slurp, and savor your way through a gauntlet of edible enigmas. Some will delight. Some will deceive. Some may leave you questioning the very fabric of reality (or at least your snack preferences).

Expectations will be shattered.
Palates will be perplexed.
And some of you will emerge victorious.

Mouthfeel—the only competition where you may put a marker in your mouth and draw a masterpiece.

Tim Felkner, Uncle Tim’s Cocktails

Tim Felkner started young in hospitality. He has opened 6 restaurants, 3 of which he owned.
Cocktails and pairings have always been a passion of his, which led him to creating Uncle Tim’s
Cocktails.

Uncle Tim’s Cocktails blends craft bottled cocktails sets that are easy to enjoy, focused on
collaborating with small batch distillers (ie. CapRock, Denver Distillery and State 38 Distilling)
to craft a premium cocktail tasting experience. First concocted in 2020 by Tim Felkner and
Patrick Stern, the brand officially launched and began pouring in May of 2022. Its Tasting
Room is located at 1080 S Gaylord Street in Wash Park, Denver, is opening in May 2025 for
cocktails, private rentals, and special events. Its variety of ready-made cocktails series can also
be purchased in select Colorado liquor stores and online, with shipping available to 40 U.S.

Tyzok Wharton, Carboy Winery

Tyzok began his foray into winemaking in San Francisco in 2005, by way of Craigslist. It was a seasonal job listing at an urban winery that provided a foot in the door to an industry that would have him working with a multitude of winemakers, vineyards, and methodologies over the course of the next decade. In 2016, he was recruited to assist in the development and launch of Carboy Winery. Over the course of the next nine vintages in Colorado, he and his team have been an integral driver for the increase of quality and recognition of the Colorado wine industry. Now with two decades of wine production experience, Tyzok Wharton is the Director of Winemaking at Carboy Winery. “We strive to craft bold, high-elevation wines that embody Colorado’s adventurous spirit, foster community with every pour, and shape the future of winemaking in the Centennial State.”

Alexandra Kayir, Strongwater

Alex has been obsessed with the transformative powers of smell and taste her entire life. From her childhood experiments converting a tool shed into an herbal apothecary at 5 years old to her drive to becoming an herbalist and sommelier, she’s always followed her nose. Working in the food and beverage industry since the age of 16, her passion for fermentation and flavor has given her a vibrant resume. A fervent supporter of local artisans and markets, she’s proud to call Colorado home. When she’s not creating and peddling potions for STRONGWATER, you can find her adventuring outdoors and foraging for her next feast or fiesta.
